Trevor Scandalios, Revit Blog

To create a context for the Revit families, I constructed an interior space from my current studio project. I placed the Husser table family that I created in the room and set chairs from the Revit family library next to these. I used Sina Meier's bench family, which i think compliments the aesthetic of the building quite well, and I also used Joshua Kolberg's Aalto chair, which also has a modern aesthetic that matches the building.
Creating the context for the families also reminded me how much more streamlined and intuitive the building design tools are compared to the family creation tools, which don't seem quite as polished.

Trevor, it was really great to see how you were able to jump into the families. Your table and lantern are really visually pleasing. Your blog shows you are thinking carefully about the guest lectures and looking carefully at visual examples (i.e. both the FLW table and the Johnson details).
Your renderings show a really attention to craft with nice atmospheric haze and attention to light angles. The closeup of your corner shows that the texture mapping of the brick needs to be rotated.
For the interior, you need to adjust your camera angle so that the perspective is not so dramatic. You also might adjust the furniture layout or the image framing so that the chair isn't half in or out of the frame. While you did excellent extra work in rendering the Glass House, I'm interested to see if you can create a model of your own work and get great renderings of it as well for assignment 3. Hope you can use the new model for your final studio presentation.

Instant is good, no seizing the moment is sad.
